LG Electronics announced that it will display SUPER UHD TV models at the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month.
The company will present the 65-inch UH9500, 86-inch UH9550, SUPER UHD TV 65-inch UH8500 and 75-inch UH8550.
In a statement, LG said that its premium SUPER UHD TV models will come with ULTRA Slim design, and offer higher color reproduction rate, advanced picture and sound-enhancing features including HDR (high dynamic range).
The UH9500 and UH9550 models, which are the company’s top-of-the-line products, will come with “the most advanced IPS display in the industry with innovations such as True Black Panel and Contrast Maximizer,” LG said.
True Black Panel minimizes reflections and enhances contrast ratio for a more comfortable viewing experience, while Contrast Maximizer offers more depth and contrast by separating objects from their backgrounds.
LG’s ColorPrime Plus magnifies the range of colors that can be displayed on the screen, enhancing color reproduction. The technology utilizes a broadened color spectrum to render a wider range of hues and shades, creating images with greater depth and realism.
Another technology that new models include is Billion Rich Colors, which uses the 10-bit panel and 10-bit processing power to give the UH9500 and UH9550 the ability to render over one billion possible colors.
According to LG, the UH9500 model employs the company’s new design concept, making it even thinner than its predecessor. The UH9500 “is second to none when it comes to sound,” LG said, noting that it worked with high-end audio pioneer harman/kardon worked to develop a speaker system that could deliver high quality, detailed sound.
Further, LG said that it plans to begin shipping in the second half of 2016.
Pricing for these models has yet to be announced.
