For the second time, a lucky women won $1 million by playing the Massachusetts Lottery.
The very interesting thing is she bought both lottery tickets from the shop, Stop & Shop, which located in Stoneham, Mass. First time she won $1 million back in 1996.
Carpenito is a resident of Stoneham. She is the twenty-sixth $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s $10,000,000 Diamond Millionaire instant game.
Carpenito selected the cash option on her prize, and received a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes. She is planning to spend money to make this Christmas an especially good one for her family, according to the Lottery.
Stop & Shop, which she bought tickets, has proven to be very lucky for her over the years. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
“There’s no reason to believe that this is anything other than a coincidence,” said Massachusetts Lottery spokesman Christian Teja told CNN. “The Lottery does not know where the grand prize tickets are sent to,” he said. “There are numerous policies and procedures in place with all of our games to ensure that the security and integrity of these games are not compromised at any level.”
