‘San Andreas’, the disaster movie directed by Brad Peyton might be receiving negative reviews from critics, but it is not creating any negative impacts in the Box Office Collections of the movie.
The film is literally rocking the Box Office, and as per latest updates, it has collected more than 18.2 million on its opening Friday.
The movie is now heading properly on track for a weekend haul of $47 million, while trade pundits have predicted a collection of 40 million USD prior to the release of the movie.
Cameron Crowe’s “Aloha” collected just 3.6 million in the opening Friday, and in all probabilities, it will make just 11 million – 12 million after the end of this weekend.
Critics all around the world are not very much impressed with ”San Andreas”, the Dwayne Johnson flick. The film has some power packed performance from the star, but a weak script has reportedly derailed the effort.

The film also contains some disaster movie cliches which we have witnessed an umpteen numbers of times in the past. The movie has successfully broke all previous first weekend records created by Dwayne Johnson movies.
Films like “Hercules” ($29.8 million), “Pain and Gain” ($20.2 million) and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” ($40.5 million) now trails behind the collection of ‘San Andreas’.

The film is also in the top brass of collections made by disaster movies in the opening weekends.
This Brad Peyton directorial is behind “The Day After Tomorrow” ($68.7 million) and “2012” ($65.2 million), but is much ahead than last year’s ”Into the Storm” which made only 17.3 million USD at the opening weekend.
