Southwest Airline’s nation wide 72 hours fare sales which got kick started on June 2, 2015 has taken a new turn as the website of the airline company got crashed as a result of heavy traffic.
By Wednesday afternoon, visitors of this site started getting the message ‘you may experience difficulty’, and later after some hours, when a visitors tried to book a trip, the site showed pathetic response, and finally gave the message, ‘Gateway Timeout’.
Some customers also claimed that they saw the following message while trying to book the trips. “This portion of the Southwest Airlines website is undergoing maintenance and is currently unavailable. Please try again later”.
As per Brandy King, the Spokesperson of Southwest Airlines, the website has added the capacity expecting more traffic from Tuesday.

But the response from the public was overwhelming in nature, and this has resulted in all the havoc. Brandy King added that the technical team is working hard to bring back the website back on track.

The Sale covers travels from August 25 through December 16, 2015. The airline company has blacked out some holiday periods in this span.

The Sale features prices as low as 49 USD for one way short trips, and 149 USD for round trips. Southwest Airlines has not made it clear about the number of seats which will be available to book under Sale offer.
