British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tests positive for the novel coronavirus on Friday. A video posted by the prime minister confirms that he had developed mild symptoms of the COVID-19 like a fever and persistent cough which intend him to go for a coronavirus test which later came out positive.
Johnson will now self-isolate at his residence at 10 Downing Street with proper medication at home and will lead the government operations and responses virtually while being quarantine.
PM Johnson said, “So I am working from home, I’m self-isolating and that’s entirely the right thing to do.” He added, “But, be in no doubt, that I can continue, thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fightback against coronavirus.”
Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.

“We will get through it and the way we’re going to get through it is of course by applying the measures that you’ll have heard so much about,” he said. “And the more effectively we all comply with those measures, the faster our country will come through this epidemic, and the faster we’ll bounce back,” he added.
Johnson and the 10 Downing Street confirmed the virtual coordination of the Prime Minister. Though earlier this week foreign minister Dominic Raab was named the “designated survivor” in case Johnson becomes ill and needed someone to take care of the responsibilities in this virus pandemic.
Johnson implemented a strick lockdown in the nation with a complete shutter down for all businesses with a ban on the gathering of two or more people. And the mandate is for at least three weeks from last Monday.
The country has confirmed a total of 11,800 cases of coronavirus with a recorded death of 580 people. The country is struggling through the pandemic just like others in Europe, but frankly, the UK government lagged behind in adopting the social distancing measures.
Other renowned politicians have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 test like Italy’s democratic party and Spain’s Deputy Prime Minister. And earlier this week Prince Charles was also found positive for the coronavirus test.
U.S President Donald Trump was also diagnosed with the coronavirus test, which he and his doctor confirmed as negative. In early March, Trump met with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro at Mar-a-Lago, which was later tested positive for the coronavirus test.
