Robert Downey Jr., the retired legend from Marvel Cinematic Universe character Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron man has been a great influence and is a huge fan of the environment. Now that he has retired from his work, Robert is taking an initiative towards saving the environment with the help of technology. He has proposed new ways of controlling rising climate change and calamities. As per Variety, Robert has introduced a new group named Footprint Coalition which will be using, “advanced technologies for the good of the environment,” which includes nanotech and robotics. He will later be proposing the plans at Re: Mars conference in Las Vegas which is a conference arranged by Amazon. Robert conveyed, “Between robotics and nanotechnology, we could clean up the planet significantly, if not totally, in 10 years.” Claiming that the techs can clean up the environment within 10 years is a big deal.
He also praised the scientists and engineers who helped him in proposing the cause as he said, “God, I love experts. They’re like Wikipedia with character defects.” He says that he himself is a suspect of harming the environment as he is equally responsible for the climate change as he referred to himself as a “carbon footprint nightmare colossus.” Robert also said, “I have this quiet sense of crisis, I’m a one-man carbon footprint nightmare colossus.”
Robert is also planning a web series along with his wife Susan Downey which is going to be related to artificial intelligence in association with YouTube Red. Susanne Daniels, global head of original content at YouTube said, “We are excited to be in business with the smart creative minds behind this innovative new series, There is so much to discover, and this series will take us on a fascinating journey as we explore the exciting developments in the world of AI and glimpse into the future.”
