Climate change is the rising issue today and it is very important to control it as it is harming our planet on an extensive level. For example, in the Northeastern States, the temperature during the winters use to go up to 3.8 degrees Fahrenheit and that was between 1970 and 2000 and if we compare the data from today the temperature has risen up due to the climate change. The summers are getting hotter year by year if we compare today’s summers to the summers earlier in the 90s.

Since 1970, the temperature of LA Guardia Airport which is in New York City, the temperature has risen by 0.7 degrees per decade as this information was conveyed by the city’s Panel on Climate Change. According to a study published recently, one of the reasons behind the climate change is our older ones who have seen witnessed everything by their own eyes and yet have contributed to the rise of the temperature. The factors that affected the climate in all these years are buildings, especially the residential buildings which are one of the largest consumers of energy in the whole world. As per the recent research conducted by some researchers, the consumption of most of the energy was made under the households and if we talk in numbers than the energy consumption was about 30,000 owner-occupied units in the time span of 1987 to 2009.

As seen in the survey, the energy consumption was less when it was being used by the adults says Hossein Estiri, a computational demographer at Harvard Medical School and an author on the paper. The consumption of energy started rising between the age group of 30 to 54-year-old adults. Dr. Estiri conveyed, “the peak of having kids and larger houses, then stabilized when people reached their 60s. But after 70, it goes up and it keeps going up.”
