This is not the first time when scientists discovered exoplanets just like Earth but the one discovered a few hours back is the one which seems to be the next possible earth. The newly found exoplanet named GJ 357 seems to be six times bigger than the size of our entire earth and that too a little close to the earth i.e. 31 light-years ahead.

Scientists have discovered a planet, named GJ 357 d, that is about six times larger than Earth, orbits a dwarf star every 55.7 days, and could potentially provide Earth-like conditions. Researchers don’t know whether the newfound exoplanet, which is 31 light-years away, is rocky like our own planet 🌎However, they do know that it could potentially support liquid water on its surface because it exists in the star’s habitable zone. “This is exciting, as this is humanity’s first nearby super-Earth that could harbor life,” said Lisa Kaltenegger, a professor at Cornell who authored a study on the planet and two other nearby exoplanets. Scientists claim that the new super-Earth could possibly the next Earth-like planet with the possibility of liquid water on the surface. The planet-GJ 357 obits a little star and is located within the outer edge of its star habitable zone, which clarifies that the planet receives the same amount of energy that Mars does from the Sun. As per the estimate and expectations of researchers if the surface of this planet is dense enough then it could trap enough heat to serve liquid water over this planet.

Lisa Kaltenegger, a professor at Cornell who authored a study on the planet and two other nearby exoplanet states that “This is exciting, as this is humanity’s first nearby super-Earth that could harbour life.

If this next super-Earth is the new living planet for humans then this could be the next biggest discovery for all human genre.
