Newer technologies are being introduced between shorter spans of time. Fortunately for techies, companies can keep up with the pace through consistent software updates. Take operating systems like Apple’s IOS and Google’s Android. Roughly eighty percent of the smartphone population depends on these two operating software primarily for the smooth functioning of their handsets. However, to be able to avail the latest trends, the users are required to update their devices with the most recent updates. The same is naturally applicable on consumer smartwatches as well, or any other product for that matter.
Both, the Apple and Google smartwatch users each year, eagerly look forward to WatchOS and Android Wear software updates for the betterment of their products. While Apple took its annual conference back in June, to release software updates for its smartwatch, Google fans are still waiting for any news regarding the same. The wait is now fortunately over. The search giant recently published a list of smartphones that will receive the latest Android Wear OS update.
The latest software update will be based on this year’s Android Oreo built-up. Google fans were kept in the dark regarding the upgrade for Android Wear smartwatches for the longest time possible. The owners were made to guess whether or not; their smartwatches would be fortunate enough to run on Oreo. As posted on Google’s official website, the LG Watch Sport will be the first one to receive the update. This will way before the official software update even rolls out for use for all the owners. Additional smart wearables will receive the Android Oreo 8.0 update as well. The list includes some pretty big names such as Michael Kors, Sofie, Fossil Q Venture, Montblanc Summit and Louis Vuitton Tambour as well. Companies like Diesel, Guess, Huawei, Misfit, Emporio Armani, Casio, Tag Heuer, Tommy Hilfiger, ZTE, Nixon, and Mobvio are also top on the list.
As noted by Android Community, the list majorly includes fashion brands – which is genuinely a surprise. Over the years, one has observed the trend caused by the technological advancement in the watches category as well. Digital watches are also a thing of the past now, as smart wearables are no longer considered to be designed primarily for fitness enthusiasts. It is even supposed to be a fashion statement these days, to sport a smartwatch along the process. Unfortunately, older Android Wears have been left out of the update. ASUS’ ZenWatch 3 will also receive the Android Oreo 8.0 update pretty late.
The list of other smartwatches that will receive the update much later include LG Watch R, some of Huawei’s watches, as well as the Moto 360 and Moto Sport. At the same time, the list of smartwatches that will be receiving the latest Android Oreo 8.0 update includes: Fossil Q Venture, LG Watch Sport, Louis Vuitton Tambour, Michael Kors Sofiea and Montblanc Summit.
The list also further goes on to include smartwatches such as Casio PRO TREK Smart WSD-F20, Casio WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch, Diesel Full Guard, Emporio Armani Connected, Fossil Q Control, Fossil Q Explorist, Fossil Q Founder 2.0, Fossil Q Marshal. Fossil Q Wander, Gc Connect, Guess Connect, Huawei Watch 2, Hugo BOSS BOSS Touch, LG Watch Style, Michael Kors Access Bradshaw, Michael Kors Access Dylan, Michael Kors Access Grayson, Misfit Vapor, Mobvoi Ticwatch S & E, Movado Connect, Nixon Mission, Polar M600, TAG Heuer Tag Connected Modular 45, Tommy Hilfiger 24/7 You and ZTE Quartz.
